Financial Assistance for Community Groups, Organisations, Projects and Events in the Shire Of Busselton
Financial assistance is available to groups and organisations for projects and events in the Shire of Busselton.
There are a number of ways to apply for financial assistance. To ensure you apply to the most appropriate area of assistance please explore the options below or contact the Shire to discuss your project further.
Community Bids for the 2009 / 2010 Budget
The aim of the Community Bids is to grant financial assistance to organisations that provide services or activities that align with the Shire's strategic plan and deliver sustainable social, environmental and / or economic benefit to the Shire of Busselton community.
Funding allocations include the following:
- General donations and grants
- Fee waivers (facilities, services and other)
- Events sponsorship
- In-kind works
The 2009 - 2010 round of Community bids is now closed. 2010 -2011 round of community bids will be advertised in February 2010.
Minor Sporting, Recreational & Community Grants
Grants are available to incorporated clubs, groups and organisations based in the Shire of Busselton. The aim of the grants is to provide financial assistance to groups to improve facilities and/or purchase durable equipment. The funding is provided on a dollar for dollar basis, not exceeding a $2,000 contribution per application. The funds are provided on a reimbursement basis after the provision of receipts.
The 2009 - 2010 round of Minor Grants is now closed. The 2010 - 2011 round will be advertised in March 2010.

Sponsorship
Sponsorship for up to $500 for individuals or groups in the Shire of Busselton. Please read the information & guidelines carefully, ensuring that you address the criteria as appropriate in your proposal.
Councillors' Small Local Projects Fund
The Shire of Busselton has created a Small Local Projects Fund to which there is a basic budgetary allocation each year. The intent of the Small Local Projects Fund is to provide Council with the ability to facilitate small local improvements and/or assist community groups to provide facilities/services or to carry out activities that are felt to be a positive contribution to their local area or the district as a whole.

Community Environment Grant
The purpose of the Community Environment Grant (CEG) is to provide small grants to support community environment projects within the Shire. Community not-for-profit groups and schools from within the Shire of Busselton are eligible to apply. There is also a category for individuals proposing protection of native vegetation on private property. Please refer to the CEG Funding Package for categories of funding, funding criteria and a copy of the application form. Funding shall be generally limited to $1,000, however requests of up to $3,000 will be considered provided the project is strategic in nature and demonstrates a high level contribution from the applicant. The 2009/10 round is now open. Call for applications closes on 15 October, 2009.
Leavers Community Appreciation Fund
Funding available for the Dunsborough community
The Leavers Community Appreciation Fund was established to provide a return to the Dunsborough community following Leavers celebrations in the area.
Non-government and not for profit groups are invited to apply for funding for initiatives that benefit the Dunsborough community.
Two rounds are offered each year. The next round of funding opens on 1 October 2009. Applications will close 30 November 2009 and successful applicants will be notified by 15 December 2009.
