How to join the library

Submitted by cathrynh on 1 November, 2006 - 21:24.

Everyone is welcome to join the library. Please ask for our ‘Joining the Shire of Busselton Public Libraries - Your Options’ brochure. All memberships will be processed within one working day of completing a membership application and presenting required identification.

Permanent Members:

All members must supply proof of their current residential address and the name, address and phone number of a second contact person. Your membership entitles you to borrow up to 8 items per individual or 20 items per family and place reservations.

Visitor Members:

Western Australian visitors to the Shire who can present a current library membership card from their home library and proof of their permanent residential address may use the library free of charge. Your membership entitles you to borrow up to 4 items per individual or 12 items per family. No reservations may be placed.

Temporary/Deposit Members:

Temporary library users who cannot provide proof of current residence in Western Australia may still join by paying a temporary deposit of $50 per family or $20 an individual. This deposit will be refunded by the Shire of Busselton when proof of current residential address is supplied to staff, along with receipt issued at time of deposit. Your membership entitles you to borrow up to 4 items per individual and 12 items per family. No reservations may be placed.

Membership Rules and Regulations

Library cards are valid for two years and must be presented to borrow resources. A charge will be made for lost/damaged cards or library stock. Resources are all due back three weeks from date of issue, with an option to extend the loan period for a further three weeks if there are no readers waiting for that item.
