Library Resources
To borrowers, the library offers fiction, including large print, non-fiction on an amazingly wide range of subjects, talking books, periodicals, videos and CD-ROMs. The junior section offers pre-schoolers a choice of bright, attractive picture books, and for older children there is a great selection of fiction and non-fiction as well as talking books, videos, magazines and CD-Roms.
There is also a small but growing Young Adult library with some good reads and some relevant magazines, including MAD, Australia's Surfing Life, White Dwarf, Girlfriend etc.
The reference section has several sets of encyclopaedias both in hard copy and on CD-Rom as well as specialist reference works that give up to date, specific information on many topics.
A Language Learning Centre is housed at the Busselton Library and offers books, sound cassettes, CD-Roms and other material in languages other than English with many more titles being available on request. A computer is available in the library to assist learning a variety of languages from reference CD-Roms. The library provides computers for the public to access the Internet and for word processing.
Through the request and information service, resources and information on any subject is available from the resources of the statewide public library network. The databases of all these libraries, plus the State Reference Library are now available to be perused through a computer in the library using the Internet free of charge. Music scores, play scripts and photocopies of journal articles are also available through this system.
