Today the Shire of Busselton launched on its web-site IntraMaps Public - a powerful interactive mapping system that has been designed to provide a wide range of mapping-based information in an easy-to-use web based application that anyone will be able to access.

The benefits of this new mapping system to the community are:

• With one click you can interactively explore a map while being able to see detailed information about objects on the map;
• Residents, real estate agents, valuers, builders, surveyors, developers, community groups, environmental groups, other government agencies, utilities or businesses can all access the information 24/7;
• Applicants can view policies that affect the land that they wish to develop and tailor their application to include the pertinent information;
• IntraMaps Public will allow the Shire to communicate more efficiently with stakeholders, allowing anyone to view information, such as applications or planning matters that are advertised for Public Consultation;
• As the use of IntraMaps Public grows the information presented can be adapted to change and grow, depending upon the needs and feedback the Shire receives from stakeholders.

• Link  to Google Street-View;
• Link to Google Real Estate;
• Link to undertake title search at Landgate;
• Planning policies and much more

Shire President, Cr Wes Hartley, said "The rolling out of IntraMaps Public is a giant step into the 21^st Century world of virtual communication, affecting almost every aspect of land use and planning dealt with by a Local Government Authority.  Shire staff are to be commended for their work in enabling the Shire of Busselton to a be a national leader in this crucial future planning field". 

Community training sessions will commence in the near future at both the Dunsborough and Busselton Libraries, encouraging members of the public, regardless of age or computer literacy, to learn how to use this invaluable tool.
