Community Input Sought on Sustainability Assessment Criteria - Busselton Foreshore Consultation Model - 19 October 2009
The Busselton Foreshore Working Group invites members of the community to give feedback on the Sustainability Assessment Criteria. The Criteria is part of the Consultation Model developed by the Busselton Foreshore Working Group, to gather community input on how the foreshore could look in the future.
The Sustainability Assessment Criteria is designed to assess submissions made by the community on the foreshore project. The Busselton Foreshore Working Group will be calling for submissions from the community in November 2009.
The criteria sets out clear guidelines on the sustainability of the foreshore taking into account three major areas of assessment. These areas are:
- Environmental
- Economic
- Social
Chair of The Busselton Foreshore Working Group Helen Shervington said, "The community is passionate about its jetty and with the refurbishment well under way this is the right time to be considering the foreshore. We want the community to tell us what that they think of The Sustainability Assessment Criteria as this document will be crucial when it comes to submission time."
