Funding Available For The Dunsborough Community Leavers Community Appreciation Fund Applications for Round One Now Open
The Officer in Charge of the Dunsborough Police Station, Sergeant Ian Clarke, said "The Dunsborough Community has already benefited significantly from the money set aside from the Appreciation Fund in the past two years, which has included the new Canteen/Meeting room at the Dunsborough Sports Oval, the Rescue Mule at Yallingup Beach, an Ambulance Stretcher for Dunsborough St John Ambulance and the Commemorative Rose Garden at the Dunsborough Cemetery".
Mr Clarke said "The positive returns to the community, coupled with a more organised and positive approach to the Leavers' period, has allowed all involved to move towards a more harmonious end to November".
Shire President, Cr Wes Hartley, said "These funds provide the opportunity for community groups to identify worthwhile community projects that might not otherwise fit into any specific funding criteria and were an important recognition that the annual Leavers' events impact the whole local community and such grant opportunities potentially offered a very positive outcome to the local Dunsborough community".
Two grant rounds are offered each year and Round One for 2008 is now open and applications are requested from groups who may wish to apply for grants for initiatives to be implemented in the Dunsborough region.
Applications for Round One close on Monday 1st December 2008. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 12th December 2008.
