Report for Eagle Bay and Canal Rocks - Proposed Finger Jetty - Site Selection
The City of Busselton secured grant funding, from the Department of Transport’s Recreational Boating Facility Scheme (RBFS) Grant for the planning and design of a 1200mm wide finger jetty to be used for marine rescue. The City has identified two potential sites as part of the Capes Regional Boating Strategy (2011) these are, Eagle Bay on the rocky east facing the coastline or Geographe Bay and Canal Rocks on the west coast.
The report considered previous studies undertaken by the City, consultation with various stakeholders, analysis of the site data and the associated design criteria. This resulted in two preliminary designs, that include detailed site comparisons for each site and a recommendation as to the most suitable site. The report and the preliminary designs for the finger jetty at both sites are available for public comment, with copies of the report and the preliminary design plans available for reference from either the City’s website www.busselton.wa.gov.au or they can be viewed at the Busselton and Dunsborough Libraries.
Feedback can be submitted electronically to wendy.mekisic@busselton.wa.gov.au or mailed to the City of Busselton, Locked Bag 1, BUSSELTON WA 6280 on or before Tuesday, 31 July 2012.
