The City of Busselton has implemented new rules for the transport of asbestos to the Dunsborough Waste Facility.

In order for asbestos to be handled safely for burial, our loader needs to be able to lift off asbestos with its forks.  Therefore, it is required that asbestos be transported to the Dunsborough Waste Facility on a pallet.

Asbestos must be wrapped or contained to prevent asbestos fibres escaping during transport.

Asbestos must be labelled with the words "Caution Asbestos " in letters at least 5cm high.

Asbestos must be separated for disposal and not mixed with other waste.

Asbestos must arrive at the waste facility by 14:00 (Monday to Friday) and advance notice is required (minimum of 30 minutes).   Notice can be provided by calling 0417 179 596.

Operational staff must be informed upon arrival at the waste facility if your load contains asbestos.
