Shire President, Cr Wes Hartley, has thanked the Federal Government on behalf of the people of Busselton for their commitment of $6 million towards the Busselton Jetty Rebuild, if re-elected.

The leaders of Australia's two major political parties have been invited by the Shire of Busselton to inspect the condition of the Busselton Jetty as part of their Federal election campaigns.

The Shire of Busselton has welcomed the increasingly broad political support for a Federal Government contribution to the rebuilding of the Busselton Jetty.

Last week the independent candidate for the Federal seat of Forrest, Noel Brunning, met Shire representatives and confirmed he will push for a Commonwealth contribution if elected.

Shire President Cr. Bev Clarke has totally rejected Troy Buswell's comments that Council has been "dudded" claiming he has offered nothing towards a constructive way forward and as a result the community is the loser.
