Artists Move Home - February 8, 2012
After a 2 month stay in the Old Fire Station on Queen Street Busselton, Artgeo artists in residence have packed up their brushes and moved back to their studios in the newly created cultural precinct.
Their use of the Old Fire Station over summer proved to be a win-win situation for all.
Master Plan for Foreshore Development - January 13, 2012
Plans for the revitalisation of the Busselton Foreshore have made significant progress.
The Draft Busselton Foreshore Master Plan has been approved for public consultation. Members of the public are now invited to view the plan and submit feedback to the Shire.
Foreshore Takes Shape - December 13, 2011
The new granite and ironstone seawall that provides the backbone of the Busselton Foreshore redevelopment has been completed.
Further work on the redevelopment will temporarily halt to accommodate the annual influx of visitors and to allow local people to enjoy the foreshore during summer.
Seawrack Bypassing Work Nears Completion - December 13, 2011
The scheduled seagrass bypassing programme is complete as far as the Western Beach is concerned and contractors VMS have demobilised equipment from the area.
Approximately 200,000 cubic metres of seagrass wrack and sand has been removed from the Western Beach since the operation commenced on October 10th.
Margaret River Bushfire Appeal - November 30, 2011
People wishing to assist those impacted by the Margaret River bushfires can donate through the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund (LMDRF).
The State emergency fund has been activated to coordinate donations to support victims of the bushfires which have destroyed more than 30 homes and property in the Margaret River area.
