Cultural Development

The area of Cultural Development is part of the Directorate of Community and Commercial Services at the City of Busselton. This function is facilitated by the Cultural Development Officer.

There are a number of cultural events and projects that are undertaken in the City many of which are free to the community, and are across a broad spectrum of areas and industries.

The Cultural Partners Group was re-convened in 2014 and meets quarterly. This is an opportunity for the ‘artistically inclined’ to keep in touch, share information and events and create projects that of benefit to the greater community.

A Multi-Cultural Group has been established and it is still at a growing stage. The intention is to bring both new and old residents together to celebrate the diversity of the cultures that are found in the area. This is done in an informal manner with people sharing their favourite traditional foods – from lamingtons to Lebanese rolls, samosas to spring rolls, it’s about being open to learn.

If you are interested in participating in either group or require more information on the City of Busselton's Cultural Planning and Development initiatives, please contact the Cultural Development Officer Jacquie Happ, on (08) 9781 0335 or email jacquie.happ@busselton.wa.gov.au
