The City of Busselton provides services for two (2) Cemeteries. Busselton Cemetery is located at 285 Vasse Highway, Yalyalup. Dunsborough Cemetery is located at 16-28 Hansen Street, Dunsborough.
To make enquiries about burial information, cemetery records or family history searches, reservations for cemetery plots, niche wall and memorial gardens, interment of ashes, plaque orders and applications to erect monuments, please contact the City of Busselton's Customer Information Officer on 08 9781 0436.
Recognising the need for somewhere special for families to grieve the loss of a small child or miscarried or stillborn baby, the fully refurbished Busselton Cemetery Children's Garden has been open since November 2012.
The City is happy to work with families to provide for a number of different cultural and personal burial and ashes placement options. We encourage community members to make an appointment with the Senior Customer Information Officer to discuss your preferences.
Monuments and Memorials
All monumental works must be approved by the City of Busselton prior to placement in the Cemetery and adhere to specifications set out in the local laws. Please complete the Application for Monument Installation form located below. Return this with required specifications and payment to City of Busselton, Locked Bag 1, Busselton WA 6280.
The City of Busselton Customer Service team can assist with the design and purchase of Bronze Memorial Plaques for placement in the niche walls, gardens or as part of a traditional memorial. Please call for an appointment. 08 9781 0436.
General Cemetery Guidelines
- Please treat all elements within the Cemetery with dignity and respect.
- Assistance Dogs are welcome. Please leave your pets at home.
Visitors with mobility issues are invited to drive into the Busselton Cemetery grounds along designated roads. The gates are open from 8:30am to 3:00pm daily.
Please use caution when driving within the cemetery:
- Do not exceed the 25kph limit;
- Use the tarred roads only;
- Give pedestrians the right of way;
- Park Responsibly.
Please use only non-breakable vases or containers. Consider using live cut flowers rather than artificial. Retain tributes within your boundaries. Unfortunately, all non-conforming tributes will be removed as they pose a significant risk to the public.
The City of Busselton operates under the Cemeteries Act 1986 and the Busselton Cemeteries Local Law.
