Gardening in Geographe Bay
Soils in Busselton, Dunsborough and surrounds can often be dry, sandy and water repellant. This makes gardening hard, and can mean we over use fertilisers to try and help them. Using too much fertiliser contributes to making our streams and rivers prone to algal blooms and can even affect our beautiful ocean bay.
The City of Busselton has lots of great tips for gardening better to save you money and time in the garden and also help our waterways. We also run events with other agencies so you can get the best and most up-to-date advice on gardening here. Also, for more detailed information, see the link below to the "Gardening Guide for the Geographe Bay Region" brochure.
