The City of Busselton is responsible for managing numerous reserves with significant conservation values. To date, twenty three management plans (link to management plans tab) have been prepared for high priority bushland and foreshore reserves and over 2,000 ha of other reserves have been assessed for their ecological value and potential threatening processes (link to summary report).
An overarching management plan was also developed for Geographe Bay, with support from Geocatch and a Coastcare grant (link to Geographe Bay management plan)
There are currently 13 Friends of Reserve groups (link to Friends of Reserve Strategy) that actively assist the City in managing the environmental values of bushland and coastal reserves.
The City also promotes passive recreation activities in natural areas.
