Busselton Wetlands Trails
The Busselton Wetlands Trails Development Plans document was the result of a 12 month planning process in which the Busselton Wetlands Trails Masterplan was developed and advertised for public consultation. Submissions were considered by the Busselton Wetlands project team which resulted in the Trails Development Plan. The Trails Development Plan was endorsed by the City of Busselton Council in February 2008. The Trails Development Plan was developed with funding from the TrailsWest programme.
Many of the Busselton Wetlands Trails will be dual purpose, catering for both commuters and wetland visitors and therefore will connect with the growing Dual Use Path network. However, there are also a number of trails that will lead to a point of interest in the wetlands so people can appreciate the beauty and values of the wetlands.
The trail development plan guides the prioritisation, funding and construction of wetland trails within the City. A number of trails from the development plan have already been constructed since its preparation and the City continues to source external funding to assist in the construction of the remaining trails.
