For Schools & Community Groups

The City of Busselton offers free waste education visits to schools, childcare facilities, educational organisations, & community groups within the City of Busselton to promote waste minimisation, recycling, and sustainability. The sessions are conducted at your school or organisation by our Recycling Education Officer.

The City of Busselton Waste Education School Program includes interactive activities that are age appropriate and curriculum linked. Lessons can be adapted and customised to suit school lesson time tables and learning stages.

Our officer can also assist the students in conducting a waste audit, organise a landfill tour, or prepare an upcycling craft project.

Or perhaps you have an idea for a project that could be implemented in your neighbourhood, the broader community, or city-wide. Our educator can help you and your students develop your idea further and come up with something far-reaching. As done with the students from Vasse Primary and the Take 3 poster competition and wheelie bin signage, we can help your students tackle waste issues at the council level.

Another great initiative our officer can assist your school in is becoming an accredited Waste Wise School in line with the Waste Wise Schools program. Or for those already involved, we can assist you with continuing on that journey. See for more information about this program.
