Dunsborough Waste Facility and Weighbridge
The Dunsborough Waste Facility (ph: 0417 179 596) located on Vidler Road (off Caves Road between Dunsborough and Yallingup) is the City of Busselton's main waste disposal facility. The hours of operation are between 7.30am and 4:00pm, seven days a week, with the exception of Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday.
The Dunsborough Waste Facility is open for domestic and commercial waste disposal, green waste and recycling, seven days a week from 7.30am to 4.00pm.
There is no charge for domestic recycling including;
- Scrap metal (car bodies, microwaves, fridges, etc.)
- Electronic waste (TV’s, computers, keyboards, mobile phones, etc.)
- Printer cartridges
- Fluorescent lights (tubes & CFL’s)
- Gas bottles
- Used motor oil (containers up to 20L)
- Cardboard, Glass, Aluminium, Plastic
*Many of these items contain toxic materials which we do not want in landfill. Please dispose of them responsibly by bringing them to one of our waste facilities or another collection point in town.
Charges apply for recycling tyres, $8.00 each for car tyres and $16.00 for truck/tractor tyres.
The charge for mattresses is $5.00 per mattress

A free Drum Muster recycling service operates for cleaned agricultural and veterinary chemical drums (both plastic and steel). All drums must be triple rinsed prior to arrival and are accepted every Tuesday & Wednesday. Please telephone either the Dunsborough Waste Facility or Busselton Transfer Station to arrange disposal of drums.
Weighbridge at Dunsborough Waste Facility
The weighbridge at the Dunsborough Waste Facility came into operation on 1 July 2009. All commercial waste charged by weight from that date. The following fees inclusive of GST, as advertised in the Council's Fees and Charges, are applicable for 2019-20 (per 100kg):
- General Waste $6.00
- Building Waste (unseparated) $12.00
- Construction and Demolition Waste $12.00
- Clean Green Waste $3.50
- Liquid Waste $5.60
- Asbestos (commercial & domestic) $13.50
- Bricks and Concrete $3.10
- Clean Fill no charge
- Minimum Weighbridge Charge $27.00
Staff reserve the right to apply general waste fees to loads containing green waste which are not suitable for mulching and general waste fees to loads of clean fill which are not suitable for use as cover material.
