Council Supports Additional Eastern Link Consultation

Published on 04 April 2018

The City of Busselton Council acknowledges that a significant number of people have concerns with the Eastern Link component of the Busselton Traffic Study implementation strategy.

Council has agreed that regardless of the outcome of pending environmental approval applications, there will be further public consultation prior to construction being pursued.

The public consultation may consist of several elements such as public meetings, an independent survey, a consultative working-group and an open submission period.

The Council continues to undertake traffic modelling and environmental investigation, including indicative costing of all elements of the implementation strategy including Ford Road, dualling Causeway Road and Strelly-Barlee-West Street.

It should be noted however, that detailed costings are impossible to fully calculate until the environmental conditions associated with approvals are known.
