SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon

The SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon is entering into its 21st year and is an event that is much loved by the triathlon community. It is an event with long standing history, originating in Collie before moving to Rottnest Island, Margaret River and finally settling in the town of Busselton where it has been welcomed by the community since 2002.

The event offers a range of festival events for those upcoming athletes looking to kick start their triathlon career in a fun and exciting way. This includes the Teams Triathlon, perfect for those who a new to triathlon and are looking for a light hearted introduction on what it has to offer. There is also the SunSmart Kids Triathlon, great for the little ones who have watched everyone else cross the finish line over the weekend and are eager to give it a go themselves. And if you're not up for a bike or a swim, we have the family friendly Fun Run taking part on the Friday. We encourage fancy dress & parents with prams to take part!

Friday 29th April 2022 - Busselton Fun Run

Grab your bathers, running shoes, bike and the kids because there is something for everyone at the Festival in 2022! Bring the family along and choose your distance from;

500m dash
Magic Mile
5km fun run.
Prize money and prizes up for grabs.


Saturday 30th April 2022 - SunSmart Busselton 100

2021 will see the evolution of the event to include the Busselton 100 triathlon. This includes a 2km swim alongside the iconic Busselton Jetty, a 80km cycle through the Tuart Forest and a 18km run along the Busselton Foreshore and through the event village. If you are not partaking in the race, get your whistles and your banners to join the event village filled with hundreds of spectators who have come just to cheer our athletes on!

Sunday 1st May 2022 - SunSmart Busselton Foreshore & Kids Triathlon

The Busselton Foreshore Triathlon will see enticer and sprint distances for the event, with the opportunity to take part in the total distance as a mixed teams relay. Perfect for those wanting to dip their toes into the world of Triathlon! For all the young guns out there, the SunSmart Kids Triathlon is a short, fun filled triathlon designed especially for the kids and will include two distances.

* Short distance (7 – 11 year-old): 100m Swim / 2km Cycle / 500m Run

Includes the family wave which allows parents/guardians of participants to complete the event alongside their children free of charge. *limit to one adult entry per registered child, adult must be 18 years or over to be included.

* Long distance (12 – 15 year old): 200m Swim / 4km Cycle / 1km Run
