In 1985 a bunch of local surfers decided to hold a Competition to get together and have a bit of fun. All these years later the event has become one of the premier longboarding contests on the calendar. The Yallingup Malibu Classic was born. The Indian Ocean Longboard Club are now the custodians for keeping that history of the event alive each year.
Together with a dedicated team of helpers the event springs to life early December and manages to capture that magic feeling of getting together and having some fun in the surf.
