Despite current uncertainty around State border closures, we remain hopeful that the first Jetstar flight from Melbourne will arrive in Busselton as planned late next month. If it is postponed (again) due to COVID-19, we’ll just have to go with the flow.
Irrespective of the delays on the commencement of regular passenger services, Busselton Margaret River Airport is performing very well. FIFO flight numbers have returned to above pre-COVID and passenger numbers have increased by 1000. Council also endorsed the construction of up to three general aviation hangars. Pilots, owners of small aircraft and other interested persons will be invited to submit an expression of interest to lease a constructed hanger at the airport. This EOI process will be advertised late next month / early July.
