Changing Places Facility
The City of Busselton is proud to announce the opening of a new Changing Places facility in Signal Park. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide a safe, clean, and accessible environment for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers.
Changing Places facilities are larger than standard accessible toilets and include features such as a height-adjustable adult change table, a tracking hoist system, and ample space for two caregivers to assist. These facilities are crucial for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well as other disabilities that severely limit mobility.
Located in the heart of the Busselton Foreshore (Signal Park), this new facility is part of a broader initiative to make Busselton more inclusive and accessible for both residents and visitors. The addition of the Changing Places facility complements the existing amenities in the Busselton Jetty Foreshore precinct, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and community events without barriers.
The project was made possible through funding from the State Government Department of Communities and the Federal Government Department of Social Services and the dedicated efforts of the local community.
The Changing Places facility can be accessed 24/7 with a Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) system. People with a disability can apply and purchase a MLAK key through the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia Limited - Master Locksmith Access Key application.
