Advisory and Working Groups

Councillors represent Council on a number of advisory and working groups.

Bush Fire Advisory Committee

Established pursuant to the Bushfires Act 1954 to provide advice to Council in regard to all matters relating to bushfire control, prevention and management.

Local Emergency Management Committee

Established pursuant to the Local Emergency Management Act 2005 to assist Council and ensure local emergency management arrangements are established.

Lower Vasse River Advisory Group

Assists and works with relevant stakeholders with respect to the health of the Lower Vasse River.

BPACC Councillor Working Group

Provides advice and recommendations in relation to the progress of the Performing Arts Centre.

Sustainability and Energy Working Group

Considers the development and implementation of energy efficiency initiatives.

Economic Development Taskforce

Provides advice and recommendations as to the implementation of the Economic Development Strategy.

Economic Development Working Group

Is a subsidiary working group of the Economic Development Taskforce.

Busselton Jetty Reference Group

Provides a forum for discussion on Jetty related matters with Busselton Jetty Inc. and Council.

Meelup Regional Park Working Group

Assists the Council in managing and promoting Meelup Regional Park.

Disability Access and Inclusion Reference Group

Assists with the implementation of initiatives identified in the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.

Peron-Naturaliste Partnership

One of nine local governments on the Board. Works with State Government to lobby the Federal Government about environmental issues.

Marketing and Events Reference Group

Makes recommendations to Council on the allocation of marketing and events funding.

Busselton and Sugito Sister Cities Partnership

Manages the sister city relationship with Sugito, Japan and arranges adult and youth exchanges.

Busselton Senior Citizens Board

A Councillor participates on the Board of Management in accordance with the Board’s constitution.

Regional Roads Group

The group prioritizes and resolves projects for the allocation of monies received from State and Federal Government.

South Western Zone Local Government Association

An association of 12 South West local governments that meet to consider WA Local Government Association initiatives.
