What is alfresco dining?
Alfresco dining is where customers dine adjacent to an established food business, generally using footpaths, verges, car parking bays and reserve land. Also referred to as Outdoor Eating Facilities.
Can I add alfresco dining to an existing food business?
Yes. On successful application, City owned land located adjacent to food premises can be used to provide outdoor eating spaces.
What do I need to consider?
In considering applications the City will review:
- Pedestrian safety
- The position of the outdoor area and size in proportion to existing food businesses
- The visual aesthetic of furniture and structures
