Community Assistance Program

What is the Community Assistance Program?

The Community Assistance Program supports and facilitates programs, services and projects that contribute to the social, environmental and cultural development of the City of Busselton. Applications are open for the duration of the financial year or until all funds are allocated. Grant assessments take place in 4 rounds each financial year.

Who can apply?

  • Incorporated groups and not-for profit organisations that provide services or activities within the City’s boundaries.
  • Eligible community sectors include Aged, Youth, Disadvantaged, Early Childhood and Families, Volunteers, Sport, Recreation and Environment.

What makes a project eligible?

  • New services, programs and activities aimed at specific target groups to meet an identified need or address an identified gap.
  • Programs aimed at training, development, retention and recruitment of volunteers (including purchase of equipment relevant to the program).

What grants are available within this program?

Assistance Grant

For programs, services or activities that aim to assist residents with a focus on the following sectors of the community; Aged, Youth, Disadvantaged, Early Childhood and Families, Volunteers, Sport, Recreation and Environment.

Funding: A maximum allocation of 60% of total project cost, up to $10,000 per application.

Revitalisation Grant

Assistance for infrastructure development, facility maintenance, facility upgrades and the revitalisation of places and spaces.

Funding: A maximum allocation of 60% of total project cost, up to $10,000 per application.

Revitalisation Grant Plus

Assistance for contributions towards significant infrastructure development and when external funding is being sourced i.e. Lottery West, Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund.

These external funding grants generally require co-contribution from the community organisation, Local Government and external funding body.

Application is by invitation only and available to applicants that have a well-developed strategic plan and have had extensive consultation with the City’s Community and Recreation Team prior to preparing an application.
