Salty Sounds

A Creative Music Space for Young People 

Salty Sounds is a dedicated music rehearsal, collaboration and creative space for young people aged 12-25 years.

Whether you're part of a band, a solo musician, vocalist, producer, songwriter or just starting your musical journey, Salty Sounds provides a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment to develop your skills, connect with others and explore your creativity.

Designed with young people in mind, the space is warm, welcoming and built to encourage collaboration, learning and self-expression.

What's Available?

The Salty Sounds space includes:

  • Rehearsal and jam space
  • PA system
  • Limited instruments and music equipment
  • Songwriting and music development opportunities
  • Workshops with musicians and industry professionals
  • Collaboration and networking opportunities
  • Youth-led creative projects
  • Comfortable lounge and chill-out spaces

Salty Sounds focuses on creativity, learning and collaboration rather than performance. It's a place where young people can build confidence, develop skills and connect through music.

Membership

Membership is available for young people aged 12-25 years.

Membership Fee

$60 per band (not per member)

Membership includes:

  • One dedicated 2-hour rehearsal session each week for 6 months
  • The same day and time each week
  • Access to the space between 9:00am and 9:00pm
  • Participation in workshops, events and creative opportunities
  • Connection with a supportive community of young musicians
  • Can bring up to two friends

Places are limited to ensure all members have regular access to the space. One member must complete an induction before receiving access to the space.

If all membership spots are currently filled, you can join our waiting list.

When a place becomes available, you will be contacted and provided with an Eventbrite registration link to secure your membership.

How to Join Salty Sounds

Email youth@busselton.wa.gov.au to request a membership. You will be sent a link to enrol on Eventbrite. Once you have enrolled, an induction will be take place and then you are good to go.
