The Dunsborough Waste Facility is the City of Busselton’s primary waste disposal facility with a fully operational lined landfill as well as a weighbridge. The Waste Facility accepts general waste, garden waste, a variety of recyclables, electronic waste, bricks & concrete, household hazardous waste and asbestos.

Asbestos is only accepted at Dunsborough and by appointment only. It must be triple wrapped in heavy duty black plastic and labelled. Large quantities must be on a pallet (not on gluts) to be unloaded by forks. Loads are accepted at the discretion of the leading hand.

The Facility also provides mulch free to residents.

Tip Passes

Households with kerbside rubbish and recycling are issued with four tip passes per year. Households outside the rubbish/recycling collection zone are issued with eight passes. Owners of vacant land also receive tip passes.

The barcode on your rates notice serves as the tip pass, which are valid until September 30 the following year. For new residents, passes are mailed out on a case by case basis.

Tip passes are interchangeable for eligible forms of general waste or green waste. To maximise resource recovery, waste must be sorted or a fee may be incurred.

Tip passes are for domestic properties only. Commercial waste contractors who are removing household domestic waste are not permitted to use the passes, nor are non-commercial contractors who are removing waste from a collection of dwellings.

For seniors who present a Seniors Card, the disposal of Green waste at either facility is free. For contractors working on behalf of seniors, seeking a green waste fee exemption, they must complete and submit it to the City, a Contractor Green Waste Fees Exemption Statement (attached below) prior to delivery.
