Public Artworks

If you are wandering around the Busselton Foreshore and Queen Street you may notice the sculptures that line the streets and paths. These sculptures form the City’s public artwork and are an exciting collection that portrays the town’s diversity and rich history.

Around the district you will find Timothee Vasse in Vasse, Sculpture by the Bay City Acquisitive Prize winners in Dunsborough and beautiful bronzes in Yallingup.

Public artworks create conversation – whether you like it or not, it means you have the chance to share your opinion, and … there is no right or wrong answer!

Many of the sculptures you see are a result of partnerships and collaborations between the City and community, and they certainly play their part in enhancing the spirit of our towns.

Sculpture by the Bay is part of the Dunsborough Arts Festival, held on the foreshore each year. The City offers an Acquisitive Prize that we have been sponsoring since 2012. In 2021, to celebrate its 10th award, the prize will jump to $10,000.   The winning artwork is installed in Dunsborough.

The Public Artwork Trail is growing rapidly, check out the trail via the link. If you see something that isn’t included, send an email to city@busselton.wa.gov.au (attention Cultural Development Officer). Include the location, a photo and any information you might have about the artwork.
