Fire Control Enquiry
Firebreak Maintenance
A Bushfire Risk Reduction Notice (BFN) is one of the ways local governments can help the community to reduce risk and be more prepared for bushfires.
Under Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, local governments can require a landowner or occupier to: maintain a firebreak, take other actions with respect to anything upon the land that is likely to be conductive to the outbreak, spread or extension of a bushfire.
