Community Emergency Preparedness Open Day - Eagle Bay and surrounds
Sunday 25th October 2026
Is your household ready for the bushfire season?
Residents of Eagle Bay and surrounding areas are invited to take part in the City of Busselton – Eagle Bay Community Emergency Preparedness Open Day – Bushfire Ready Together.
This interactive event will bring together key agencies from the Local Emergency Management Committee to help residents better understand bushfire risk and take practical steps to prepare.
In collaboration with members of the Local Emergency Management Committee, the City offers residents practical tools, information and experiences to help them understand bushfire risks and make informed decisions when it matters most.
What’s happening on the day:
-
Scenario Workshop – Work side by side with emergency services in a simulated bushfire event to explore real-time decision-making, response actions and community coordination.
-
Virtual Reality Experience – Step into a lifelike bushfire scenario through VR technology to experience the intensity and urgency of a real event.
-
Bushfire Ready Support – Meet trained Bushfire Ready volunteers and either start or refine your personalised bushfire plan.
-
Meet local Bushfire Volunteers – Meet members of your community that help keep you safe and learn how you can become a volunteer.
-
YES Cadets – Meet the next generation of volunteers and maybe even carer firefighters.
This free, family-friendly event is all about empowering our community with the knowledge, skills and connections needed to stay safe and protect what matters most.
Let’s work together to be bushfire ready, together.
