Busselton Health Study – 60th Anniversary Community Celebration
Saturday 28th November 2026
The Busselton Health Study 60th Anniversary Community Celebration is a free, inclusive outdoor event recognising one of the world’s longest-running population health studies and the thousands of local residents who have contributed to it over six decades. Held at the Old Busselton Courthouse Precinct, the event will bring together participants, families, and the wider community for an afternoon of connection, storytelling, and recognition. Through light refreshments, informal presentations, and shared stories, the event will celebrate Busselton’s unique contribution to global health research while fostering community pride and awareness of ongoing research.
The event is designed for the Busselton community, particularly current and past participants of the Busselton Health Study and their families. The audience will include a broad demographic, from long-term participants aged 50+ to younger family members and community residents. The event is free and open to all, ensuring accessibility and encouraging intergenerational participation. While the primary audience is local, some intrastate and interstate visitors are expected, including former participants, researchers (e.g. Fiona Stanley, Nobel Prize Winner Barry Marshall), and stakeholders connected to the Study.
