The City of Busselton is one of 41 local governments who have received State Government funding through the 2026/2027 Mitigation Activity Fund (MAF) Grants Program.
The City is receiving $319,964 to support local bushfire mitigation activities. Mitigation activities include building firebreaks, chemical and mechanical treatments, as well as reducing fuel loads and hazard reduction burns to minimise the potential risks of fires.
Over the past five years, the City has secured more than $1 million in MAF funding, helping deliver key projects identified through its Bushfire Risk Management Plan.
The funding supports ongoing programs aimed at reducing bushfire risk, protecting lives and property, and improving community resilience through proactive mitigation and preparedness activities.
A bushfire plan can help keep you and your family safe. Take a few minutes to prepare your property and review your bushfire plan before the next fire season by visiting DFES.
