Tourism industry leaders from across Australia will gather in Busselton this week for the Australian Regional Tourism Convention (ARTC).
ARTC is the fifth large conference to be held at Saltwater Busselton since opening earlier this year, highlighting Busselton's growing capacity to attract and host large business events.
City of Busselton Deputy Mayor, Kate Cox said the convention provided an exceptional opportunity to showcase the City of Busselton’s new venue and the region to tourism leaders from around the country.
"Tourism contributes more than $700 million annually to our local economy, and hosting an event like this in Busselton is a fantastic opportunity to show off what is special about our region. The beautiful coastline, iconic jetty, great food and wine and the warm, friendly welcome visitors receive from local businesses."
"Welcoming delegates from across Australia attending this convention during the shoulder tourism season will provide a significant boost to local businesses and demonstrate the value of business events in supporting year-round visitation to our region."
“During the convention, delegates will experience the region's renowned tourism offerings, including its pristine coastline, world-class food and wine and nature-based experiences.”
"The convention also provides the perfect platform to highlight the capacity and versatility of Saltwater Busselton, a venue that has already become a significant asset for our community and visitor economy."
“The City of Busselton is incredibly grateful to our partners at Australia’s South West, the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, the South West Development Commission and Business Events Perth for their support in helping secure and deliver this high-profile event in Busselton.”
The Australian Regional Tourism Convention runs from 20-23 October 2026 and brings together tourism operators, destination managers, industry leaders and government representatives to discuss opportunities and challenges facing regional tourism across Australia.
Objectives outlined in this statement are aligned with the City of Busselton’s Council Plan (2024 - 2034) Key Theme Lifestyle – Our community is safe, welcoming and inclusive, with access to services and facilities to support good health and wellbeing.
