On Monday 28 July 2025, the City’s CEO, Tony Nottle, resigned from his position. Tony will remain working at the City as CEO until the end of his notice period.

Tony has been an exceptional leader, dedicating almost eight years to the City in the role of Director Finance and Corporate Services and then more recently as our CEO. Tony has been on the journey with us at a senior level for many years and has been instrumental in delivery of a range of successful projects and initiatives.
As CEO, Tony has successfully led the organisation through a period of change, including recruitment of a new Executive Leadership Team following a major realignment of organisational portfolios. He has consistently provided strong support and guidance to the Council on strategic and governance matters, and we have all appreciated his dedication and commitment to making the City a success. We have enjoyed a fantastic working relationship with Tony since he became CEO, and on behalf of the Elected Members, I wish Tony and his family all the very best for the future and their next chapter.
While we are fortunate that Tony will be with us for a couple of months still while he works out his notice period, the Council will now need to discuss Acting CEO arrangements in preparation for Tony’s departure, and we will commence a recruitment process for a new substantive CEO in due course.

I would like to thank the Mayor, Elected Members, staff and community for their support and engagement during my tenure as CEO. It has been a real privilege to have been given the opportunity to lead an incredible team of talented people here at the City of Busselton, and to play my part in the development of the City as it evolves and grows.
Having spent 24 years working in local government, it is now my intention to focus on other interests outside the industry. I wish the team at the City all the very best for the future, and appreciate and value all the connections I have made through working here.
