The City of Busselton is pleased to announce that Saltwater Busselton will officially open on Saturday 9 May 2026. The opening will mark a major milestone for the region’s arts, culture and events landscape.

The opening will occur in stages, beginning in May with public access to the Art Gallery, Conference Suite, Foyer and Box Office. The Theatre Auditorium will open soon after. This phased approach enables the community to begin using key areas of the venue for events, art exhibitions and activities while final works in the Auditorium are completed.

A selection of shows will also go on sale in May, providing audiences with the opportunity to secure tickets ahead of the Auditorium’s anticipated opening. The Box Office and Saltwater Gallery will operate seven days a week from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

To celebrate Saltwater’s opening on the second weekend of May, the City will open the doors to the community, offering guided tours throughout the venue, including a behind-the-scenes look at how a modern theatre operates and access to selected backstage areas. These tours will highlight the scale and complexity of the project and the specialist work involved in bringing Saltwater Busselton to life.

Mayor Phill Cronin said, the opening of Saltwater Busselton represents an exciting new chapter, “Saltwater Busselton is a project our community has watched grow from concept to construction, and I am incredibly proud to see it nearing completion. This venue will not only showcase local creativity and talent but also attract new cultural and economic opportunities for our City.”

“Saltwater Busselton represents many years of planning, design and construction, and I look forward to the community enjoying the many benefits this new vibrant cultural venue will provide.”
