City of Busselton councillors have endorsed a new vision for the Busselton Cultural Precinct.

Busselton production ‘Beyond the Vasse’ was one of four West Australian creative projects to share in $557, 535 in grant funding to create performances in regional WA.

Following extensive consultation with stakeholders, Aboriginal Advisory group and local community, City of Busselton Councillors have endorsed the venue name: Saltwater.

The City has been awarded two Lotterywest grants - $1.8 million for the creation of community spaces within the Busselton Performing Arts and Convention Centre; and $18,000 for an augmented reality project to educate the community on the historical significance of the Ballaarat Engine.

The City of Busselton is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from entrepreneurs, for the opportunity to lease a commercial enterprise located in the heart of the central business district within the former ArtGeo Gallery.

Further to Council’s meeting of 8 September 2021 and its decision to proceed with the construction of the Busselton Performing Arts and Convention Centre, the City has invited prequalified tenderers to review their tender pricing of the centre.
