The City of Busselton has renewed its commitment to supporting local seniors by entering into a new three-year funding agreement with the Busselton Senior Citizens Centre Inc.

Under the agreement, the City will contribute $97,384 per year (excluding GST and indexed annually), providing essential financial support to sustain and enhance the Centre’s programs and services. This initiative aligns with the City’s Council Plan Lifestyle Outcome, which focuses on promoting healthy, connected, and inclusive communities.

Mayor Phill Cronin praised the Centre’s contribution to the community, stating: "The Busselton Senior Citizens Centre plays a vital role in fostering social connection, wellbeing and active ageing. It’s wonderful to see continued funding support for an organisation that delivers such a wide range of programs and services tailored to our ageing population."

"This agreement provides not only financial stability but also the opportunity for the Centre to plan and deliver services more effectively, ensuring they continue to meet the evolving needs of our seniors."

Established in November 1980, the Busselton Senior Citizens Centre is a vibrant hub for residents aged 55 and over. As a not-for-profit organisation, it offers a diverse range of activities and service from indoor bowls and bingo to podiatry and remedial massage, along with a welcoming space where members can socialise and enjoy a home-cooked lunch.
