Local artist Kirsty Wyatt is set to unveil her latest project ‘Portraits In Time: A Celebration of Life’ at the City’s Bond Store, Old Courthouse Complex in the Busselton Cultural Precinct.

The exhibition will run from 1 April to 29 April 2024, with an Artist Talk scheduled for 11.00am on Saturday, 13 April 2024 at the Bond Store.

This exhibition celebrates the lives and contributions of older generations in Busselton. Through visually striking portraits and the sharing of life experiences, Kirsty’s work seeks to foster intergenerational understanding and respect within the community.

The City’s Exhibition/Curating Supervisor, Sharon Williams said, "After putting out an expression of interest on a Facebook community page, Kirsty had over 100 responses! This really highlighted how engaged the community has been with this project.”

Artist, Kirsty Wyatt said, "I am a local artist specialising in watercolour and mixed media techniques. People and their stories are my primary inspiration, fuelling my creativity each day. I seek to capture the fleeting moments of life through careful observation and a deep connection with objects and their histories. My focus is on illuminating the triumphs, challenges, personalities and experiences that shape our lives as everyday individuals and their narratives hold great significance to me."

"Celebrating the stories of ordinary people is the core of my artistic vision and I wish to provide a platform for their voices to be heard and their significance to be recognised. Everyone’s journey is unique, and my dedication lies in striving to convey the profound impact of their lives. It was wonderful to have the likes of Cape Care and William Carey Court reach out for me to include some of their residents. I also had people nominating their loved ones and others nominating themselves.”

Join Kirsty Wyatt on Saturday 13 April at 11.00am for a free artist talk in the Bond Store to celebrate the rich tapestry of lives depicted in "Portraits in Time: A Celebration of Life.”
