The City of Busselton invites community members to come together in the spirit of connection, reflection and unity during National Reconciliation Week 2026 by taking part in the annual Reconciliation Walk next Thursday, 28 May 2026

Held as part of this year’s National Reconciliation Week and theme, All In, the event encourages all Australians to commit to reconciliation every day, through understanding, respect and meaningful action.

Now in its fifth year, the community walk will be led by local Elder, Gloria Hill and begin at the Busselton Youth and Community Activities Building on the Busselton Foreshore. The short 450m or seven minute walk will conclude at Saltwater Busselton, where participants will gather to hear stories, share morning tea kindly provided by Pindari Pty Ltd. There will also be opportunity to experience the inaugural Saltwater Gallery exhibition, Two Girls from Amoonguna (an ACMI touring exhibition).

Mayor Phill Cronin said National Reconciliation Week provides an important opportunity to pause and reflect on our shared history and to take meaningful steps toward a more united and respectful nation.

“Reconciliation starts with conversations, shared experiences and a willingness to walk together. This event is a chance for our community to reflect, listen more deeply to stories that may be unfamiliar, celebrate culture and broaden understanding. If you are able to attend, I encourage you to join us in showing support, respect and unity.”
