The City of Busselton has endorsed its new Community Health and Wellbeing Plan 2026–2031, setting a strong and coordinated direction to support a healthy, connected and thriving community into the future.
The Plan was adopted by Council at its meeting on Wednesday 27 May 2026, following extensive engagement with residents, community groups, industry partners and key stakeholders.
Mayor Phill Cronin said the Plan represents an important step forward in how the City supports community wellbeing and strengthens the City’s role in working collaboratively to improve outcomes across the district.
“This Plan is a significant milestone for Busselton. It brings together the voices of our community and partners, and turns them into a clear, practical roadmap for action. Consultation highlighted that mental health, cost of living pressures, safety and access to services are key concerns, and this Plan puts those issues front and centre.”
“Health and wellbeing are shaped by many factors, from housing and transport to community connection and feeling safe. This Plan positions the City to take a more proactive and coordinated approach, working closely with our partners, to advocate for our community and deliver inclusive, accessible initiatives that support people at every stage of life.”
The Plan builds on the City’s strong foundation of community programs and partnerships, while identifying opportunities to do more in key areas such as housing, transport and access to services. Importantly, it also reinforces a shift toward prevention, early intervention and place-based solutions that respond to the City’s unique and growing community.
As part of its implementation, the City will establish a Housing and Homelessness Advisory Group, bringing together service providers, community members with lived experience and decision makers to help guide local responses.
The Community Health and Wellbeing Plan 2026–2031 will guide the City’s work over the next five years, with a strong focus on collaboration across government, community organisations and local partners to deliver meaningful outcomes for the community.
