Taj's Small Fries Yallingup

Taj’s Small Fries is Western Australia’s most prestigious junior surfing event, a cornerstone of Surfing WA’s development pathway and a breeding ground for Australia’s next generation of surfing champions.

Held annually at the stunning Yallingup beach, the event is named after local surfing legend Taj Burrow, who launched the competition in 2006 to foster emerging talent.

Small Fries is more than just a junior surfing event—it’s a celebration of community, youth empowerment, and the mental health benefits of our natural surfing environment.

The competition features divisions for kids aged 8-17 years, creating an inclusive platform for grommets of all ages to battle it out for the coveted title of ‘Top Fry.

The event is fully mobile within the Yallingup area, a location synonymous with world-class waves and scenic beauty.
