Bussell Highway - Night Works
Published on Thursday, 15 January 2026 at 2:35:43 PM
Following the consultation process with affected properties in September 2025, the City of Busselton is proceeding with the delivery of road resurfacing works on Bussell Highway (between Queen Elizabeth Avenue and Queen Street), Albert Street and Harris Road (between Queen Street and Camilleri Street), and Queen Street (between Albert Street and Peel Terrace).
A local South West contractor has been engaged to undertake these works due to the age and deteriorating condition of the existing road surface. To minimise disruption to residents, businesses and daytime traffic volumes, construction will be undertaken at night. These works will be undertaken in accordance with an approved Noise Management Plan under Regulation 13 of the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997 to manage noise emissions during the construction process.
The works will include road profiling and resurfacing, line marking and traffic light loop reinstatements.
Construction is scheduled to commence in mid-February 2026, with completion expected by the end of March 2026, subject to weather conditions. Works will be undertaken Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.00pm and 6.00am.
The project will be delivered in stages to minimise disruption and maintain access where possible. Traffic management arrangements will be implemented in accordance with the active stage of works and may change as construction progresses.
The roads will remain fully open to traffic during daytime hours and on weekends. Temporary traffic management measures, detours and restricted access may be in place during night works. Traffic controllers will be on site to assist road users. Some noise associated with construction machinery and activities is expected.
