Staff Art Exhibition ‘Not Just a Pretty Face’ promises to inspire

The City of Busselton’s Old Courthouse Complex is proud to announce the grand opening of its highly-anticipated staff art exhibition ‘Not Just a Pretty Face’. Taking place this Thursday 7 December 2023, the exhibition promises to be an evening filled with creativity, inspiration and a celebration of the artistic talents within our very own staff. 

This unique exhibition showcases the diverse talents of the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring the magic of the arts to our community. From administrators to technicians, educators to curators, City staff members wear many hats within the complex. This exhibition provides them with the opportunity to don yet another hat – that of the artist. 

Not Just a Pretty Face features a wide range of artistic mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media. Each piece on display reflects the individuality and passion of its creator, offering a glimpse into the multifaceted talents of the Old Courthouse Complex staff. 

The City’s Busselton Cultural Precinct Venue Manager, Sharon Custers said "We are thrilled to celebrate the artistic talents of our staff members. This exhibition is a testament to the depth of creativity that exists within our organisation. It's also a reminder that the arts are not just a part of our work, they are an integral part of who we are." 

Join us for an evening of artistic discovery and celebration at The Old Courthouse Complex. The grand opening event will kick off at 5.00pm on 7 December with light refreshments and the opportunity to meet the artists themselves. Attendees will have the chance to engage with the creators, learn about their artistic processes and perhaps even take home a piece of art to add to their collection. Exhibiting Artists include: Anton Blume, Cassandra Bynder, Dana Edwards, Jacquie Happ, Stuart McMillan, Carol Mulhearn, Felicity McQueen and Sharon Williams. 

The Old Courthouse Complex is committed to fostering a culture of creativity and innovation and the Staff Art Exhibition underscores this commitment. It's a chance for staff members to step into the spotlight and share their artistic visions with the community they serve.
