  • Ten projects will seek community support through You Choose.
  • Voting opens 15 January 2024 and closes 12 February 2024.
  • You Choose launched as a pilot program back in 2021.
  • The program offers a total of $100,000 in smaller grants of up to $20,000 for community led projects.

The popular ‘You Choose’ community funding program is back for 2024 and the City is calling on its community to choose the successful projects.

Ten community ideas have been received in response to the City’s application process for the You Choose community funding program, which closed on 6 November 2023. You Choose offers a total of $100,000 in smaller grants of up to $20,000 for community led projects or initiatives that help improve your neighbourhood or the broader community.

Mayor Phill Cronin said, “Applications went through a simple assessment process to ensure they are legal, safe and achievable, ready for the broader community to consider how they would like to allocate the $100,000 funding pool.”

“You Choose provides the community with an opportunity to participate in the allocation of part of the City’s budget using an online budgeting tool through its engagement platform, Your Say Busselton. Launched as a pilot program back in 2021, it’s great to see how well the community has again embraced this community led initiative.”

“The City has received a great mix of innovative projects and I would encourage everyone in our community to take part in allocating the funding pool when voting opens on 15 January 2024.”

Voting is open for four weeks, closing on 12 February 2024. To find out more or to vote visit the City's Your Say Busselton engagement platform.
