Rural Road Verge Maintenance in Progress

Published on Thursday, 7 August 2025 at 1:19:00 PM

Our crews will be back in the rural areas again to undertake vegetation pruning and mulching to keep our roadsides safe and maintained. Here's what you need to know:

When: Starting mid-August and running until end-November (subject to weather)

Where: Starting on the main thoroughfares the works will cover the remaining roads in the yellow zone, and move onto the red and blue zones (see map below). This is a rolling annual program that will cover the entire district over time.

What: We're pruning and mulching roadside vegetation, focusing on canopy and regrowth under 10 years old (no mature trees will be removed).

Why: To ensure driver safety, improve fire mitigation, and maintain critical assets like roads and drains.

To keep yourselves and our crews safe, please maintain a wide berth around any machinery and keep dogs on a lead.
